Oceans 2050
Studio
Abundance by Design - building the oceans of the future.
The design and delivery arm of Oceans 2050.
Led by architect Fritz Neumeyer and coastal engineer Dr. Matt Campbell, the Studio develops holistic solutions for communities and organizations, resorts, businesses, and private shoreline owners - to enhance fishery abundance, strengthen coastal resilience, and create places people love.
Optimize value for nature and people.
We design for ecosystem performance - coastal protection and ecosystem productivity - and beauty for the human experience.
We communicate and visualize our projects as the treasures that they are: natural real estate.
Nature designs in symbiosis. So do we.
When systems are designed to work symbiotically, nature-based solutions outperform traditional interventions.
Our new ability to create complex structures with freedom of shape and scale allow us to kick-start natural, complimentary ecosystem succession - from the reef to shore.
The future of our oceans will be shaped by people.
So to serve our oceans, we focus on serving people.

Our Principals
-

Fritz Neumeyer
Principal
Fritz Neumeyer brings architectural thinking, real estate experience, and systems-level planning to the work of restoring abundant oceans.
Trained as an architect, with a Masters from ETH Zurich, Fritz has worked across architecture, development, and complex project planning. His background gives him a strong understanding of how ambitious ideas move from concept to execution across spatial, regulatory, financial, and stakeholder dimensions.
As Co-Founder of Oceans 2050, Fritz has helped shape the organization’s strategy and concepts since its inception. Through the Studio, he applies that experience to the design of projects that maximize value for people and nature.
-

Matt Campbell
Principal
Dr. Matt Campbell is a globally recognized leader in nature-based technology and engineering. He has founded three companies that have led the market in innovative nature-based solutions for ocean restoration.
Matt is a professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in natural system design around the world. He holds six US patents and has numerous peer-reviewed publications on natural system engineering.
As co-founder and principal of the Oceans 2050 Studio, he will continue his ambition of bringing abundance to our oceans and coastal communities.
